The archaeological Museum in the town of Khajuraho will leave no one indifferent. The Museum was created on the basis of the whole system of ancient temples that are decorated with lots of incredibly beautiful, intricately carved statues and sculptures. The age of these structures has about 1000 years. They were erected during the reign of the powerful dynasty of Chandela in the X-XII centuries. All temples was about 84, but survived only 22. Mainly due to these temples which are called temples of Kama Sutra, the town of Khajuraho is a very popular place among tourists from all over the world. But the creation of the archaeological Museum also contributed to the popularization of the region.

Laid the Foundation of the Museum in 1910 in.E. Jardine, the representative of the British government in India. Then was collected a unique collection of works of art found in the region of Khajuraho and its surroundings. Mostly it was the statue that had previously adorned the walls of temples, but over time, sprinkle. They were installed at the site close to the Western group of temples and fenced.
