An ancient and beautiful Vishwanath temple is one of the most beautiful and famous temples of Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. He refers to the famous Western group of temples of Kazuhara, and is located on the North-Eastern region. Mr. T. S. Vishwanath was built, as is supposed, in the beginning of XI century.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. And in its Central part is the main value – unique marble Shivalinga, a kind of symbol of Shiva, represented in his statues. But besides the deity, in the Vishwanath temple worship and also Nandi – the bull-the demigod who accompanies Shiva, and at the same time considered it a kind of "receptacle".

Except for Shiva and Nandi in the temple you can also see images of the God Brahma. Particularly impressive it looks with three heads and surrounded by elephants and lions.

The temple has a width greater than 13 feet, and in length more than 27. Unfortunately, to our days in good condition contains only two main buildings. Their architectural style is so unique that they stand out from all other temples. South gate Mr. T. S. Vishwanath "protecting" the large stone elephants, and the Northern gate is guarded by lions.

Mr. T. S. Vishwanath famous magnificent carved panels - the outer walls of the temple is decorated with hundreds of gorgeous figures, carved stone depicting animals, plants, people, scenes from life. There you can see beautiful women, group of musicians, feast. And some scenes are very erotic in nature. Some scholars believe that the temple was created as a symbol of the eternal Union of Shiva and his wife Parvati.
