Museum-ship "Saint Nicholas" – a unique attraction in Krasnoyarsk. The Museum is located in the city centre on the embankment of the Yenisei river. The Museum was established in 1970 to the 100th anniversary of V. I. Lenin. As for the steamer, then it is more than 100 years and today it is a unique monument of history and technology.
The steamer was built in 1886, with funding from major Siberian gold-Alexander Mikhaylovich Sibiryakov. He was laid in the city of Krasnoyarsk, and tourna winch and two steam machines were manufactured in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. From Sweden to Tomsk they were delivered by train and from Tomsk to Krasnoyarsk on carts. Iron case and four boilers for the steamer ordered in Tyumen. Collected and consecrated in Krasnoyarsk ship was named in honor of St. Nicholas, the patron Saint of all seafarers and travelers.
At the time, "St. Nicholas" was the fastest ship on the Yenisei river. He shuttled between Krasnoyarsk, Yenisei and minusa. From 1907 until 1927 captain of the ship was N. F. Sivkov. The team consisted of 12 people.
In June 1891 on the ship made its way from Berezovka to the city of Krasnoyarsk returning from a trip Tsesarevich Nicholas, and in 1897, the same steamer brought in Minusinsk V. I. Ulyanov. Today in the cabins of the ship you can see wax figures of all historical figures.
In 1927 the ship was decommissioned, after which his body was transformed into a navigable barge, after – in oil. In addition, the steamer several times changed its name. In 1960 hull put in podtesovo, on the so-called steamboat cemetery.
In 1968-1970, thanks to the assistance of veterans of the Yenisei shipping company, the ship was restored at a shipyard in Krasnoyarsk. Inside is placed a collection telling about the activities of V. I. Lenin in exile, and also about his or her stay on the ship. Currently, the exposition of the Museum is housed in the 300 sqm
