Luoyang Museum of ancient tombs is a unique Museum, which was the first of its kind in the territory of China. Located in the suburbs of Luoyang, and, in addition to the main building, the Museum complex also includes a pavilion with the necessary information concerning the most important archaeological finds.

In the main building of the Museum tourists can see reproduced with maximum accuracy tombs each specific era, from the Han Empire to the song dynasty.

Exhibitions showcasing ancient crypts, representing a collection of clay figurines that were found near the sarcophagi, as well as dishes with drink and food. In this case, the figures represent the servants of the deceased, the concubines, guards, Pets and guardian spirit. Each figurine is carefully studied by professionals. According to the beliefs of the ancient Chinese, these tiny figures in the other world came to life and once again served as the host, as it was during his lifetime.

Moving through the corridors of the Museum of ancient tombs, one can note the evolution of the style of the tombs. For example, Tang period, it was typical to cover statues polychrome glaze, which allowed them to keep to the present day the pristine brightness of colors. But towards the end of the Tang dynasty figures began to do more primitive, and then they disappear altogether from the funerary traditions. But they are replaced by colorful murals.

All the works presented in the Museum is skillfully made by employees of the Museum copy, which is fully consistent with the original findings. The originals can be seen in designated rooms of the Museum, behind glass cases.
