La Union – the Philippine province located in the West of the island of Luzon. You can get here by bus from Manila – about five hours, and you will be on some of the best beaches in the country. In addition to beach lovers here you can meet divers and fans of snorkeling (Snorkelling). Until 1992, not far from the local airport was an American military base, which served as 1. 5 thousand soldiers. Unfortunately, this did not go unnoticed for natural ecosystems – almost all of the surrounding reefs have been destroyed. However, a couple of interesting diving spots still remained.
3 km from the provincial capital town of San Fernando is the most popular dive spot reef Fagg, which at a depth of about 40 meters rest three tanks of Wolverine during World war II. Today in their building, one can see a variety of marine life, including a 65-pound Moray eels, whale and white-tailed sharks, leopard rays, Napoleons, Barracuda and turtles.
In the Gulf of San Fernando there are two interesting dive-sites - Red and Black buoy buoy. The sight of the red buoy is a huge cavity, similar to an amphitheatre, the so - called "fish pot", where you can always see different fish. The black buoy is known for its caves with living in them lobsters.
The lingayen Gulf along the beach long beach stretches reef research with coral thickets and caves, grottos and canyons. Place is ideal for night dives.
Tourists have long chosen to relax the beaches of the town of Bauang, as well as more remote, located on the North of the province and ideal to practice snorkeling, surfing and other sports.
