The surroundings of Olomouc no less interesting than he is. 20 km from the town you can discover small town Czechs-under-Kosygin, famous for its magnificent namesake castle. The fortress was built before the year 1359, when it was first mentioned in local Chronicles. If the reading of their records, it is possible to imagine a powerful, austere castle, built to protect the local population from attacks of the enemy, and not for a pampered life. During one of the raids the citadel was destroyed. It was rebuilt in 1583 thanks to the efforts of the Duke Bartunkova. He was sure that the newly rebuilt castle was more like a Palace, not a fortress.
In the beginning of the XVIII century, the castle was subjected to an extensive renovation, which resulted in its reconstruction in the Baroque style. I must say that over its long history the Palace Czechs-under-Kosygin changed many owners who have added something in his appearance and altered it for my own convenience. The most famous owners of the castle were representatives of the noble family of Portugal Silva-Tarocca. This family gave the castle Empire view in the years 1839-1846. She owned the local castle until the end of world war II. Many Silva-Tarokka found their last resting place in the family vault, located in the castle Park. There is an observation deck and an artificial grotto.
In the castle, now converted into a Museum, you can see a small collection of paintings by the famous Czech painter Josef mánes, who often visited the owners of the castle.
