The ruins of the fortress Strigose located in the North of Bulgaria is in a protected area of the Park kaylaka Park, located near the town of Pleven.

The first settlement on the site of the present Pleven, historians believe, existed in the II - I century B. C. Later, these lands were the Romans, who transformed the city into a military garrison and built a road near the station. Since 238 years of the Roman Empire begins to be subjected to constant raids by the tribes of the Goths, it was decided to turn the station into a fortress.

The architecture of the fortress was originally designed in the early Gothic style. It was a rectangular building with a total area of about 31 acres of land. Inside a residential home, a large granary and Basil, which impresses with its size - 22 x 45 meters. Outside the military garrison was surrounded by a powerful wall width of about 2, 2 meters. It was built using a durable white stone and adhesive mixture. The wall was fortified towers intended for external defense, and also served as warehouses for storage of weapons. The fortress had two entrances: one stood lookout tower and the path to it was blocked by a specially dug a deep ditch, another gate led to an underground passage, passing far beyond the limits of the lock.

On-site Strigoii repeatedly carried out archaeological excavations, which were found pottery, weapons, coins 22 species. The age of the finds indicates that the building existed until the end of the sixth century.
