In 1906, at the intersection of Vvedensky (now Grigorieva E. F.) and Gymnasium (now Nekrasova street) built unusual for Saratov two-storey mansion, which still excites the imagination of the citizens. The house was built according to the individual order is respected in the city of man - the juryman Alexander Skvortsov, who came from a wealthy merchant family, who graduated from the law faculty of Moscow University and reputed to be a successful lawyer. In 1902 advantageously married a daughter of a rich merchant Bestuzheva, Skvortsov was elected city Councilor and is adjacent to the left wing (liberals). In addition to political and legal achievements, Alexander was known as a great aesthete and comprehensively developed person, he was a member of the music school and later at the Conservatoire.

Having built a mansion, the couple Skvortsova with his two sons occupied the second floor, but first he let out wealthy citizens. The dignitaries of Saratov were regular guests a hospitable and welcoming owners home: Slavin, Arapov, Exner and then young lawyer, future Prime Minister of the Provisional government, Kerensky, A. F.

Next to the house, like all the wealthy people of that time, was spacious stables with thoroughbred horses. The pride and favorite of the owner of the mansion was an English Mare Josephine, whose gallop on the streets of Moscow, according to eyewitnesses, the rider in the person of Alexander Ivanovich was delighted all observers.

The beautiful mansion was the addition extraordinary personality Skvortsova: elegantly decorated facade on a light tile with large Windows and intricately carved massive front door of oak and mysteriously omitted from the eyes of the head of the Sphinx at the end of the house, reminiscent of the wife of the former owner of the house – Vera p. Bestuzhev.

After the revolution the mansion and the stables were transferred to the district housing Department, and by the 1990's the building without repair and restorations became a disaster. Finding a new host in the face of the construction company, mansion after reconstruction work has found new life. Now the building is a historical landmark in Saratov and a monument of architecture.
