Agnondas Photo: Agnondas

Agnondas is a small resort town on the South coast, one of the greenest Greek Islands of Skopelos. It is located in a picturesque Cove, about 7-8 km from the homonymous capital of the island and has its own port.

According to local legend, the name of the port received in honor of the native Skopelos - Agnondas, who in 569 BC champion of the Olympic games. The ship on which triumphantly returned to his native land champion, sailed into the Harbor of modern Agendas in connection with which, later, this place got its name.

Over the past decade from a small fishing village Agnondas turned into a very popular resort with well-developed tourist infrastructure. Today Agnondas is charming, surrounded by white houses with red tile roofs, the picturesque promenade with swaying on the waves, fishing boats and speed boats, and of course, a lot of cozy restaurants, taverns and cafes where you can relax and enjoy traditional local cuisine. Gorgeous pebble beach Agnondas is considered one of the best on the island.

The stunning beauty of the landscapes of Agnondas and its surroundings are ideal for lovers of long walks. You can also rent a boat and take a fascinating boat trip along the shores of Skopelos.

Today Agnondas is an alternative harbour for ferries and passenger ships (in the case of closing the main port of the island in Skopelos town due to bad weather conditions). Agnondas is also an important transport hub of the island and has connections with almost all the villages in Skopelos.
