Trinity Cathedral in the Kremlin Photo: Trinity Cathedral in the Kremlin

Serpukhov Kremlin was unlike other such facilities in Russia, as it was not built of wood and carpisa, as usual, and made of stone. The Kremlin wall in pre-war time were in good preservation, but they were dismantled and used in 1934 during the construction of several stations of the Moscow metro. To this day preserved small fragments of the Eastern section of the wall.

In the center of the Kremlin is the Trinity Cathedral, which is the "octagon on square" with attached later hipped bell tower. The temple was built on the site of an older building in 1696 on the means of Archimandrite Andronik monastery Theodotia. The Church was rebuilt in 1837-1841 in the spirit of classicism - was added to the refectory of St. Nicholas and St. Demetrius chapels, changed the decor. Since 1985, it houses a branch of the Serpukhov historical Museum.
