In the Northern part of lake Ladoga is of kirjavalahti Bay Bay. In Russian language this name means "spotted". And indeed the water in the Bay from the height of the surrounding rocks is full of reflections and shimmers. In the 1930-ies here, among the tall cliffs, the Finns road was built in the village of Rautalahti. The construction was not easy, because it was accompanied by mining operations on steep granite rocks. Here among the rocks a little later there was built a Cottage pharmacist Jasskelainen.

Estate Rantala called her earlier, when she belonged to the master of pharmacy "Karelia" Tauno Jasskelainen in Helsinki. A sketch of the building belongs to the Finnish architect, the Pauli Blomstedt, but the construction itself was completed after his death in 1935-37 architects Martha, Blomstedt (his wife) and Matti Lampen. This building is designed in the style of functionalism and national romanticism. It blends into the natural landscape and creates the impression of strength and convenience. Since 1947, by a decree of the Sovnarkom of the building was transferred to the Union of composers in unpaid rent, but it remained in public ownership. Here there were well-known Soviet composers: Shchedrin, Svetlanov, Solovyov-Sedoi and many others. Here was created well-known work in Karelia became the anthem - "Karelia will Long be dreaming... ". In the 90 years in the division of property of the Russian Federation at the Federal, municipal and regional, this House composers became the property of the Karelian Republic.

Now Dacha pharmacist Jasskelainen is protected as a cultural heritage site, recognized as a historical monument and is registered Republican center. And it continues to provide for the gratuitous use of the Union of composers.
