The Palazzo and the Giusti Garden is a luxurious Palace and Park complex, nestled on the slopes of a hill on the Eastern outskirts of Verona, a few dozen meters from Piazza ISolo and 10 minutes ' walk from the Amphitheatre. Built in the late 16th century, the Palace has a classic U-shape, which was traditional for the country estates of the era. It bears the name of Tuscan Giusti family, which moved to Verona in the 15th century. And at the end of the 16th century, a Scion of the family of Prince Agostino Giusti and became the founder of the Villa and the garden that received pan-European fame. Unfortunately, the architect of this creation remains unknown.
Extensive gardens landscaped around the Palazzo in 1580, consists of many terraces and belvederes. Despite the fact that throughout its history it remade many times (the last redevelopment was carried out in 1930), today the Giusti Garden is considered one of the most beautiful examples of landscape architecture Italy. On its territory you can see a fountain with figures of dolphins and the fountain of red marble, antique statues and unique stone mascaron, standing on top of a hill and once spewing from their bowels fire. The oldest part of the Park, dated to the 14th century and having a regular geometric shape, is located next to the fountains and surrounded by green lawns. In the Western part of the Park is 4 square flower beds, surrounded by alleys of trees. Here is a fountain with dolphins, exalted pagan statue of Minerva and the figure of Apollo. Eastern part of the Park is broken only into two zones. In the first, divided into 4 triangular flower beds, installed a small fountain of red Verona marble, and the second is the hedge maze, designed in 1786 and which is today one of the few left in the province of Veneto. The Giusti garden've seen in my lifetime a lot of famous visitors, wandering in awe through its alleys, Goethe, Cosimo de Medici III, Mozart, Emperor Alexander I, and others. And today is like walking Verona residents and the many tourists who are from the upper part of the garden can enjoy stunning views of the city and its surroundings.
