Church shower Terceiros was built in 1746-1763, in Baroque style. Architect Antonio Mendes Coutinho who built this temple, was a disciple and follower of the famous Italian architect and artist Nicola Nassogne, who built many buildings in Portugal, among which is the Church of the Clerigos tower in Porto and the Episcopal Palace.

Church shower Terceiros built in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, so it is also called the Church of the souls Terceiros de San Francisco. The Church has long monumental staircase. The outer walls at the bottom are decorated with frescoes depicting scenes of the life of St. Francis. On top there is a small tower with a bell. It is the presence of the bell tower is typical of Church architecture of the Baroque style.

On the facade of the building – downstairs two large Windows, and above them is a small round window, which in architecture is called "window-eyes". The main entrance of the Church is made in the form of gates and the top is elaborately decorated with relief pattern of the grooves. The Church inside has a single nave rectangular shape, the ceiling is made in the form of a cylindrical dome. The main chapel of the Church is octagonal in shape, the roof is made in a dome shape and covered with brick. Draws attention to the beautiful chapel the altarpiece in the Rococo style, made of gold, carved wooden decoration. Inside the temple walls are decorated with panels of tiles Azulejos white and blue, depicting scenes from the life of St. Francis of Assisi.
