The house of the Golden Rose is one of those buildings of Aachen, which have been preserved thanks to the efforts of the townspeople. Being built on the square, which sold fish, originally it had a single storey form and met the strict principles of the Renaissance, which were examined in all its form. So, the façade was made of a combination of brick and wood and not stand out from the overall architecture Vismarkt. From 1353 1413 years the building was used as a dining room, and nearby was built a Gothic Cathedral.

The house of the Golden Rose was built in the 14th century, since then it has been repeatedly destroyed – fires and war did not spare him. But every time was the architect who restored it with accuracy, and in addition, made even more beautiful: so, in 1656 was the full reconstruction after the great fire, in which the house has burned down almost completely. In the add-ons were made, and the building went up.

Today this three-story building is a luxury boutique hotel. Since 1984 the House of the Golden Rose classified historic monument.
