Kazan Church is one of the temples of Astrakhan and Inpatiently diocese.

In the early seventeenth century after the liberation from Astrakhan gang ataman Zarutsky about the East gate of the Astrakhan Kremlin was built a stone Church, which was consecrated in 1615. As a result of a strong fire of 1858 almost burned the whole village and the Marina, there left only the stone walls, but thanks to the generous donations of the laity the Church was restored in the same year. In the future, the Kazan Church was completed, but she still could not accommodate everyone, especially in the days of holiday services. In late 1903 with funds transferred to construction Committee multiple Astrakhan merchants, construction work began on the erection of a new Church next to the existing. The service also continued in it until the day construction is complete, and only after that the old Church was demolished.

The new Church was consecrated in the fall of 1907 and immediately took a special place among the Astrakhan temples primarily a refinement of the architecture and elegance of design. In 1923, the Kazan Church captured the "Renovationists". But in 1930 the Church was confiscated from the faithful, a little later the bell tower was demolished and four side domes.
