Natural monument under the open sky, located in Sterlitamak district of Bashkortostan, is a four scenic high hill, forming a narrow chain that stretched for twenty miles along the White river, United by one common name - Shihan. At the foot of the mountain massif lies a beautiful lake Arakuly.

The formation of mountains occurred in ancient times, when the territory of Bashkiria was the ocean, and the Shihan reefs, as evidenced by numerous geological excavations. Deposits of different periods in the limestone layers of the mountains with more and more attract researchers and scientists. Artifacts found in the Shihan, added to the collection of the best museums in the country.

The composition of Sterlitamak mountain massif consists of four mountains lone: the Sheehan - Organization (338 m above sea level) with mountain springs, Shihan – Coustau (357 m absolute height), with three peaks and steep Western slope, Shihan – Sahtu (336 m above sea level), in the strata which are found fossilized shells of marine animals and prints shellfish, Shihan – Tretau or Tarutao (the absolute height of which is 402 m.) with the correct form of a truncated cone. Since the mid-twentieth century, the Shihan became the place of production of raw materials for the production Association "Soda", where oil was discovered.

In our day the natural monument of the Shihan is a picturesque attraction of the region and the pride of Bashkortostan in General. In the winter time Shihan operates a ski resort.
