Andropov source is located in the resort village town - village, which is located in a picturesque mountain valley 20 kilometers from Maximus. This is an amazing place called "Ukrainian Switzerland".

Andropov source is two adjacent source of mineral water No. 25 and No. 26. They are located in the southern part of the resort, on the edge of the forest, near the sanatorium "Green forest". Chemically, it is slightly mineralized, hydrocarbonate-sulphate-calcium-magnesium mineral water, which have similarity with mineral water "Naftusya". Mostly water from Andropov source is used for the treatment of various urological diseases. For example, water from spring No. 25 recommended to drink hepatitis, pyelonephritis, cholangitis, cholecystitis, chronic cystitis, after infective hepatitis and in the postoperative period, and the water from the source number 26 is prescribed for: chronic diseases and urinary tract kidney and urolithiasis.

Healing mineral springs in the village Skhidnytsia, including Andropov, were opened in the 60-ies of the 20th century a research engineer E. A. Stotsky. The name "Andropov source" was associated with Soviet General Secretary Yuri Andropov, who in the 1980s was treated water from these sources. Water was first delivered by helicopter to the nearest military airfield, and after a jet military plane to Moscow. The villagers claim that the forest was even cleaned the ground under the helicopter, in order to facilitate the supply of water.
