One of the beautiful temples of Denmark is the Romanesque Cathedral of Ribe. It is not known when the temple was laid, but historians suggest that about 1150 years. The Cathedral was built from volcanic calcareous tuff and Sandstone for hundreds of years. Today it is the only Cathedral in Denmark, which has five naves.

Throughout the history of the temple, the structure was subjected to different natural disasters: fires, floods. In 1283 during the Mass struck the North tower of the Church, killed about 100 people, and in 1333 was built the present tower is 52 meters high.

At the main entrance to the Cathedral is a statue of Hans Tausen (the first Protestant Bishop) and the statue of Hans Adolf Brorson (Bishop of Ribe is the author of the hymn which is sung by the Carillon every day). On one of the main doors of the Cathedral has a triangular bas-relief depicting king Valdemar, stretch the cross to the virgin Mary.

Today the interior of the Cathedral of Ribe mostly painted modernist Carl Pedersen, but to have preserved a little of frescoes of the XVI-XVII centuries In the Church are the graves of two kings - Eric and Christopher. Also in the Cathedral is the tomb of the last Bishop of Ribe – Ivar Munch.

The Cathedral of Ribe is one of the most famous and important monuments of Denmark. Every year, the temple is visited by many tourists from around the world.
