Brest puppet theatre was established in 1963, his first performances were held in the walls of the Brest drama and music under the guidance of Director A. Seregina. Only in 1968 the puppet theater was allocated a separate building.

In 1975, the Brest puppet theatre came Director A. Skylook. This point has undergone significant changes from the theatrical repertoire. He acquired a vivid personality, referring to national dramaturgy and staging the plays of such authors as N. Matyash, V. Yahovdyk, N. Tulupov, I. Sidoruk.

Since 1996 the Brest puppet theatre in collaboration with the Brest drama and music theatre takes teams from all over the world to the festival "White tower", which unites contests drama and puppet theaters. This is one of the most prestigious theatre festivals of the countries of the former USSR.

Brest puppet theatre became one of the first puppet theatre, which toured abroad, which met European theatre audience. The first tour took place in Germany in 1993.

Today the Brest puppet theatre is the most popular in the country. Its popularity is not inferior to even the capital of the puppet theatre.

During its existence the Brest puppet theatre has staged more than 140 performances, both classical and Belarusian national repertoire.

To arrive at the theatre touring troupe from other puppet theatres from all over the world, it supports the most friendly international relations. Its building is the headquarters of the organization UNIMA (the international Union of figures of puppet theatres).
