Rosenborg Palace Photo: The Palace Of Rosenborg

Rosenborg Palace is a historical building in the centre of Copenhagen. A large architectural complex was designed by king Christian IV in 1606-1624 years as a Royal summer residence. In 1624 castle re-designed in the Renaissance style Flemish architect Hans Stenvinkel Younger. From that time until the present day appearance of the castle has not changed. Amazing one of all was decorated ballroom, where he held receptions, balls and the Royal audience. In 1710 Frederick IV. and his family left the castle Rosenborg. Since then the kings of the residence returned only twice - in 1794, when Christiansborg burned down, and in 1801, during the battle of Copenhagen.

In 1838 the Royal Palace Rosenborg castle was opened to the public. The Palace presents a beautiful collection of jewellery, ornaments, portraits, porcelain, weapons, interior. Especially interesting to see the exhibition of the Royal jewels, regalia and the Coronation carpet.

In the summer of Rosenborg Palace is particularly beautiful, as around the Palace are the Royal gardens. It really is those Royal gardens, founded by Christian IV in the Renaissance. About 2, 5 million people a year visit the gardens, admiring the many species of flowers and plants. In 2001 opened a new garden in the Renaissance style.

Rosenborg Palace is one of the most famous and important monuments of Denmark. Every year the castle is visited by many tourists from around the world.
