8 km from Fethiye is an abandoned village. From the XVIII century there was a Greek settlement. But in 1923, the authorities have evicted all Greeks and instilled arrived here from Macedonia Muslims. However, the Muslims soon left the village and moved closer to the sea. Since nobody lives here.
In village 3, 5 thousand houses and three churches, including the Basilica of Panay Pyrgiotis (end of XIX century) with well-preserved mosaics and marble decorations. The Greeks left the village, exhumed the remains of their loved ones, but took with them only their skulls. The remaining bones of deceased residents put in one of the buildings of the Church yard, where they can be seen now.
