Golshany castle, sung by Vladimir Korotkevich as "the Black castle Olshansky", was once a beautiful castle of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. It was called "Stone flower mannerism". The floors were covered with ceramic tiles, the Windows were made of thick stained glass, the walls were painted with wonderful murals, and around the castle was a lot of beautiful tiled fireplaces. Famous Golshany castle was also its deep-vaulted dungeons.

Golshany castle was built in 1610 for Paul Sapieha. Sapieha halshany got as a dowry for the last Princess of Golshany. The castle was a rectangular fortification, surrounded by impregnable walls forming an internal courtyard. The corners were built hexagonal towers and one five fold in the center with the entrance gate. The castle was surrounded by earthen ramparts and ditches.
