The house-Museum of Maxim Bogdanovich in Grodno was founded in 1986 in the house, where in the years 1892-1896 lived with the family of the Belarusian poet. Maxim Adamovich Bogdanovich – a poet, a classic of Belarusian literature. Born November 27, 1891 in Minsk. In 1892 the family of Bogdanovich moved to Grodno, where the poet's father, Adam E. Bogdanovich got the job in the Peasant Bank. In 1896, died of tuberculosis mother Mary Maxim A. Bogdanovich, after which the family was forced to move to Nizhny Novgorod.
At the time, when in this house there lived Bogdanovich, intelligent family gathered famous people: writers, artists, and scientists. There was music and recited poetry.
In 1986 it was decided to create the literary Department of the Grodno state historical-archaeological Museum in the house where the family lived poet. Laborious work began on the reconstruction of the interiors, the collection of documents and objects belonging to the family of Bogdanovich. Already in 1995 the Museum was more than 13 thousand units. The Museum was granted independence and the new name of the cultural institution "Museum of Maksim Bahdanovich".
The exposition of the Museum is housed in five rooms with a total area of 150 square metres: the office of the father, the mother's room, children room, living room, portrait gallery. The rooms recreate the atmosphere in the form in which it was in the days when there was a family of the poet.
Now the Museum holds exhibitions, literary and musical evenings, excursions, holidays. The house-Museum of Maxim Bogdanovich involved in the international action "Night of Museums".
