In the old Kotor, on a small street that connects the Plaza de Armas square and Liberation square, or the square of Flour, is another monument of architecture – the beskuca Palace, built in 1776, This Palace belonged to the family of Besuch that in a short time the sea became rich through trade, flourishing at the time in Kotor.
The beskuca Palace is a four - storey building, constructed of hewn stones of korčula. The architecture of the Palace is quite simple, with a small number of decorative elements. Most surprising, attention-grabbing and of particular value is the portal created in the Gothic style in about the 15th century and represents the family crest of the family Bizanti. How to hit the portal with the coat of arms of the bizanti family on the beskuca Palace is unknown, but presumably, the beskuca Palace was built on the site of the destroyed buildings bizanti family, and the portal was moved out. On the sides of the portal there are two small Windows in the Baroque style. Even being partially destroyed, erased by time, in General, the elements of the portal is quite well preserved and look impressive. Unfortunately, the lion in the centre is damaged badly enough, but the lions on the capitals have been preserved almost intact. Well preserved human figures, shelves under small lions and framing portal – vine leaves entwined with ribbon. One can only imagine how this work of art looked like originally, and admire the jewellery craftsmen.
In the early nineteenth century the dynasty of the family of Escucha gradually died away, and the Palace became the property of the municipality of Kotor.
