Folklore-ethnographic equestrian theater "Zaporozhian Cossacks" is located in the city of Zaporozhye, in the South-Eastern part of the largest river island of Khortytsya. Horse theatre cherishes ancient Cossack traditions and is one of the trademarks of this great city.

Khortytsia Cavalry regiment, also known as "the Black Regiment of Cossacks", previously was part of the Zaporozhian division. It was formed in 1915 during the First world war and was the strongest division of the Ukrainian people's army. The regiment participated in the battles against the Austrian and German troops, and participated in the battles during the Civil war.

Today visitors Equestrian theater provided an exposition of weapons of XVII – XVIII century and during the civil war. In addition, here is extravagant uniforms hortica warriors, through which the regiment received the name the "Black Cossacks", and many other interesting exhibits (a machine gun, carts, banners, etc.). Near Equestrian theater, in the hangar, stores the first exhibits of the Museum of ancient navigation - Cossack ships of the eighteenth century "the Seagull" and "Brigantine", which were raised from the bottom of the Dnieper river from 1999 to 2007.

Equestrian theater "Zaporozhian Cossacks" constantly conducts various folklore performances with performances of folk ensembles, equestrian performances, demonstrations of traditional crafts Cossack, exciting Cossack games and entertainment.

On the territory of the folklore-ethnographic equestrian theater, there are two huts, sheds and summer cafe "Cossack collateral", where you can taste traditional Ukrainian cuisine.
