Makingğ the monastery of St. George (sometimes also called Abbot or St. George's monastery) is located on the southern slope of the mountains, Fenced, near the village Churilova. It is assumed that it was founded in the XIV century and restored in 1858. To this day preserved the decree of Sultan Abdul Mejid about "broadening and building" the Church of St. George, published March 5, 1857.

Information about the construction of the monastery scientists draw from the discovered inscriptions. Two of them stated that on March 10, 1858 performed works on reconstruction of the Church, and the third talks about built in 1870, the bell tower. The texts make reference to the old Church that once stood on the site of the present Church. Also lists the names of the abbots of the temple and churchwardens, provided funds for its construction and restoration.

The Church of the monastery, named after St. George, is a three-nave pseudometric open porch, located on the West side, and sheds from the South and North sides. It is a massive stone structure, reaching 24 meters in length and 12 in width. Interest are preserved frescoes 1858 and especially scenes "doomsday", "the Ordeal of the soul" adorning the walls of the porch. St. George's Church has the status of a monument of culture of national significance.

According to legend, the construction of the monastery began in 1848. In the possession of the monastery is about 10 thousand square meters of land on which old buildings are religious schools (survived two classrooms), refectory and kitchen, a Church, a bell tower, a slaughterhouse, yards, fields and orchards.
