The Maritime Museum was opened in 1962 in the West wing of the Jerónimos monastery in belém. Here you can see a lot of models of boats, fishing vessels, sailing ships and caravels, as well as a variety of navigational instruments, the astrolabe, nautical charts and stone crosses, which were installed by the Portuguese open on their lands. Also it demonstrates and models of modern Portuguese ships.
