Historical and cultural complex "Stalin Line" was opened on 30 June 2005 at the initiative of the Foundation for the Memory of Afghanistan and supported by the President of the Republic of Belarus. Active participation in the reconstruction of the "Stalin Line" took the engineering units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus.

The opening of this Grand military-historical Museum complex under the open sky was timed to the 60th anniversary of victory in the great Patriotic war and is dedicated to the heroic struggle of the Belarusian people against the Nazi invaders.

The Stalin line is the largest fortification complex on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Its total area is almost 26 hectares.

Originally the "Stalin Line" was built before the war in the years 1928-1939 along the border of the USSR before the war from the Karelian isthmus to the shores of the Black Sea with a length of over 1200 km It was never officially called the Stalin Line. The name given her by the Western media, however, the name was so precise and accurate that unofficially stuck in the USSR.

The Stalin line was a complex of fortified areas are located in long-gun emplacements – Pillboxes. Just a defense system consisted of 21 fortified, four of which were in the territory of Belarus, Polotsk, Minsk, Mozyr, Slutsky.
