Ostrog monastery – the current Serbian Orthodox monastery in Montenegro. It is situated in the mountains, at an elevation of about 900 metres away and the nearest city – Danilovgrad – 15 kilometres.
The monastery was founded in the XVII century, since here the relics of its founder – St. Basil of Ostrog. The Wonderworker died 29 April 1671. Today the monastery is the home of twelve monks.
Jail is divided into two parts: Upper and Lower monasteries. Bottom founded in the XIX century and it includes cells and a Church. Trinity. The relics of the Holy great Martyr Stanko, fifteen-year-old boy, were buried here: the Turks had cut off both his arms, as the child did not want to release the Holy Cross.

Vvedenskaya Church – a small Church, it is located slightly above the Holy cross. Here St. Basil spent fifteen years of his life in prayer. Image-the icon of the founder of the monastery adorns one of the walls of the temple, and the temple reliquaries is the ark that holds the relics of St. Basil. There are also preserved the Church candle 1779 and the prayer book 1732.
The monastery complex is located at a distance from Podgorica to 30 kilometers to the West. Geographically, it occupies a cliff foot Ostroski Grad. Eight miles from this place there is a road connecting Podgorica and Niksic.
