Moscow Art academic theatre named after M. Gorky existing in our days, was formed in 1987. Drama theatre under the artistic direction of Tatyana Doronina considers itself the successor of the Moscow art Theater, which existed from 1898 under the artistic direction of K. S. Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko.
