From ancient Mozhaisk Kremlin remained only high earthen walls. And on the hill stands the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, built in the mid-nineteenth century instead of the collapsed Church of the same name of the XIV century. The Church was built in pseudo-Gothic style by the masters of the school of M. F. Kazakov. Brick building with a rich white stone decor consists of fragments of more ancient structures: on the South wall you can see the remains of Nicholas gate, completed the gate Church of the XVII century, where the image of St. Nicholas. In the basement of the temple remains the XVI century the Kremlin wall.
Next to the Cathedral stands a four-storey bell tower, built in the early XIX century, as well as small single-headed Peter and Paul Church, built in 1852 on the site of the collapsed Ilyinsky Cathedral.
