Male Cistercian convent in Mozyr was founded in 1647 under the initiative of Novogrudok castellan Anton Bkerki. Subsequently, the monastery was repeatedly received large donations from royalty, ruling the Commonwealth. Picturesque valley, where they built a Cistercian monastery in the people were called the Valley of Angels.

The Cistercian monasteries are very strict Charter, solitude and asceticism. The Charter prohibited the monks every luxury, including prohibition extends to the decoration of monasteries, Church utensils, jewels of the clergy. The Cistercians called the white monks because of their vestments: a white robe with a black scapular, a black hood and black wool belt.

The Church of St. Michael and the female Cistercian monastery were built in 1743-1745, in the late Baroque style. The single-nave Church with three-sided apse, under the high gable roof. The founder of the convent became Benedict Rozhansky, the amount of 30 thousand gold for construction was allocated by Prince Casimir Sapieha.

In 1864 the authorities abolished male Cistercian monastery. In 1893 was abolished and a convent. The Church was returned to the Orthodox Church. In 1894 was the reconstruction of the temple, which was removed entire Baroque decor, added to the side of the gallery and built a wooden belfry. Unfortunately, during the reconstruction were completely destroyed frescoes that once adorned the Church of St. Michael.

In the late nineteenth century in the walls of the former male Cistercian monastery was opened a match factory "Malanka" that works there and in our time.

In 1990, the Church of St. Michael was transferred to the Catholic faithful. Now he is an active Church.
