The Geelong Waterfront Photo: Geelong Waterfront

Waterfront Geelong is a tourist resort on the Northern shore of Corio Bay Bay. At one time this area was part of the city's port, for many years the former abandoned and received new life in the 1990-ies.

Today on the promenade you can find many opportunities for fun and recreation. In the mid-1990s by local artist Jan Mitchell has created a sculptural composition "Bawok Bollards" consisting of wooden sculptures with drawings that reflect the history of the city. Just over 100 of them, they are installed along the waterfront between the suburbs Replied and Cape Limberness. In the Western part of the waterfront campus is Deakin University with an enrollment of approximately 1500 students in such majors as architecture, construction management, nursing and treatment of occupational diseases.

At the end of the street Yarra street pier is today's many restaurants. Hence the rise in air helicopters, making the excursion. Most of the pier was destroyed in a fire in 1988, but some of the buildings restored. On the other Marina promenade – Marina Cunningham is one of the best restaurants in Geelong, bar and café, in addition to offering a delicious menu with excellent views of the Bay, Corio Bay and the city.

Street Moorabool street facing the waterfront, ends with a berth Steampacket, where there are ferries, seaplanes and other vessels. In the Carousel Pavilion, you can see the carousel with a steam engine 1892 year of release, and the gavioli organ, made in 1898. Here, on the waterfront, hosted by the Royal yacht club of Geelong, established in 1859, and was built in 1980 specifically for yacht berth Marina Bay city.

A favorite place of citizens and tourists is East Beach, also located on the waterfront of Geelong.
