Museum of naval glory was opened in Odessa in honor of the momentous event in the history of the country, forever changed her – "legendary attack of the century". The creation of the Museum was an initiative of the Odessa Association of veterans-submariners, every member of which was directly involved in the great Patriotic war. The opening of the Museum took place on 30 January 2010. On this day, 65 years ago, Soviet submariners made a feat that went down in history as the "attack of the century". So submarine s-13 sank the liner Wilhelm Gustloff", which was 10582 person. Along with the ship were lost 1300 German submariners, 406 officers and men, 250 women in combat. It is believed that the sinking of this ship brought great damage to the German Navy. In addition to military personnel on Board were a large number of refugees, mostly children and the elderly. Unfortunately, they all died too.

So, in honor of the opening of the Museum, he donated was handed over to the model of the submarine s-13 from the President of the regional Council N. Skoryk. Another equally respectable and expensive model of the submarine M-96 was presented to the people's Deputy Sergei Kivalov. In the opening of the Museum took an active part in leadership and the students of the Odessa marine College named after A. I. Marinesko.
