The monument galuska is located in a cozy and quiet area of Poltava, in the historic city of Ivanova on the mountain, near the restaurant. The monument was erected in honor of the traditional Poltava Ukrainian cuisine – dumplings, and became the city symbol of wealth and generosity. The authors of the memorial sign was made by the sculptor N. Tsys and people's artist of Ukraine A. Chernoshekov.

Inauguration of the monument traditional Ukrainian dish - dumplings - was held April 1, 2006 to the birthday of famous Ukrainian writer Nikolai. Gogol, who in their works have glorified ports all over the world. The idea of creating the monument belongs to the local artists, and the initiator of the appearance of the monument was made by the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada A. Kukoba.

Memorable sign of Poltava dumplings – huge bowl with twelve concrete dumplings and a large deep, scoop, spoon, which rests on a pedestal in the form of a wooden countertop, covered with a traditional Ukrainian rushnyk. The monument galuska symbolizes prosperity and wealth of the family.

Poltava monument is one of the most popular places in the city. It was originally placed near the Dormition Cathedral, but due to the numerous demands of the faithful, it was moved to the other side of the square, closer to the restaurant "Ivanova Gora".

In the Cathedral square near the monument is held every year the feast of dumplings, where you can taste different kinds of dumplings and also see contests, concerts, culinary cooking contest the most delicious dumplings and theatrical performance based on the works of N. Gogol and Ivan Kotlyarevsky.
