Although Novosokolnik edge is fairly young, he is very rich on the part of historical traditions. In the early years of settlement on the erection of the Church, the residents did not even think. But in Novosokolniki began to experience a significant population increase, and the question of the erection of the temple still stood on the agenda.

The draft was prepared in 1908, in 1912 at the controls Vindavo-Moscow-Rybinsk railway, with the active participation of railroad workers, and local residents was erected beautiful Orthodox Church located at the existing street Guerrilla. For the construction of the Church was built in brick, and the temple dome was constructed of reinforced concrete. The architectural component of the temple were clearly familiar to the time features of the modernist style: ornaments and vignettes. The temple was designed in the traditional Byzantine form of an equilateral cross.

The new Church could accommodate 700 people. Just above the Church entrance was located on a special Board made of metal, on which was marked the inscription as a date of 1912 - the time of construction. Near the Church there was built a wooden belfry, containing nine bells. The new Church was a great fit for the inherent architectural appearance of the village and became one of its attractions.

When St. Nicholas Church was a parochial school in the early 20th century consisted of about 350 students. In addition to the core subjects, the clergy taught Sacred history and the Law of God in the Zemstvo school, opened in one year with the temple. The building, designed for state school sizes were significantly larger and roomier inside than the temple. It is the building of rural schools survived during the great Patriotic war, which was demolished in 2002 alone, because the building was severely dilapidated.

The true cause of the death of St. Nicholas Church was fearful of the great Patriotic war, which spared nothing in its path. After the destruction of the remaining bricks were used for outbuildings, only the dome was not useful – they were taken on a railway platform and dropped right behind Vitebsk Park, from which no trace remained.

St. Nicholas Church was rebuilt in 1995, and a year later, it was consecrated.
