The youngest and original attraction Samara is a legendary rocket "Soyuz", being the only genuine monument in Europe the missiles are assembled. The author of the project combining the Museum building and the monument is the architect V. Zhukov. The idea of "space" complex is considered in Samara the most successful in recent years.
Museum and exhibition centre "Samara Space" was opened on 12 April 2007 on Lenin Avenue, near the metro station "Russian" in honor of the anniversary of Gagarin's flight into space and the 45th anniversary of the Samara space engineering. The height of the rocket along with the building of about 68 meters and a weight of 20 tons. In the pedestal of the launch of the monument is a space Museum with exhibits of rocket engines, re-entry capsules and lots of other equipment associated with space exploration and rocket science. In the exhibition hall, visitors sitting in the chair original design, can watch movies (of your choice) on the screen – the porthole of the ship, plunging into the magical atmosphere of the project "Waiting space".
In the spring of 2011. in front of the Museum was a sculpture of an astronaut in a bright orange suit in the height of a man. The opening song was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first flights in space and for a "cartoonish" view of the samarians dubbed sculpture – Cosmopolis. Now the area in front of the Museum complex is a popular place for photo shoots guests and residents.
