In the Gallery "Gondwana" in the town of Alice springs comprehensive collection of contemporary aboriginal art of Australia and neighbouring countries that once millions of years ago were part of a single superamerica Gondwana. Not coincidentally, the gallery was named after the largest continent of the southern hemisphere – thus emphasizes the connection of Australia with other countries in the Pacific region. And today, the gallery serves as a conduit between different cultures, providing an opportunity for all to Express themselves.
Since its founding in 1990, the gallery was actively engaged in promoting contemporary aboriginal art, organizing exhibitions of famous and emerging artists, as well as implementing educational programs. At the exhibition area of the gallery also frequently exhibited exposure to other artistic and cultural institutions in Australia.
The gallery runs the Studio in which artists do - that emerged from some of the acknowledged masters, for example, Dorothy Napangiti. Often the gallery arranges for their artists tours in the Red Centre of Australia, in places associated, according to legends of the aborigines, with the "creation of peace". That's where many draw inspiration and get an incentive for creativity. And a special Department of the gallery engaged in the search of talented artists aboriginal people in remote communities across the country.
