The house-Museum of P. I. Tchaikovsky is located in the building that the famous Russian composer was filmed at the magistrate V. S. Sakharov in his last years, in may, 1892. In 1916, under the will of the composer's brother modest Ilyich Tchaikovsky the building was transferred to the Moscow branch of the Russian musical society on the condition that he would be preserved and maintained. In 1921, the Museum was nationalized.

The oldest memorial musical Museum in Russia, established almost immediately after the death of the great composer. The house is fully preserved home final years of the composer's life, his personal belongings, library, archives.
