On the left Bank of the Volga, the Volga near the village (formerly Tsarevschina), is one of the most interesting sights of Samara region - Tsarev Kurgan. A picturesque place where the river Juice flows into the Volga, covered a variety of stories and legends. Behind the village lies Zarevshanski Bor.
One of the most popular legends says that in 1391 at the top of the mound stopped to celebrate the victory over Tokhtamysh Tamerlane himself. Another legend claims that, while sailing on the Volga river in 1722, Peter the great stayed at the mound, erected a wooden cross with his hands and set it on top. Also in the legends about the ancient mound inscribed such historical figures as: Stepan Razin (hid treasure), Han mammon (buried under a mound) and Catherine II, who visited the mound in 1768, accompanied by Grigory Orlov.
Geological research has shown that Tsarev Kurgan formed in the Carboniferous seas over 300 million years ago and was once the bottom of the sea. In the early twentieth century, the height of the dome of the mound was reached more than 105 meters, but since 1875, on the mountain were the development of the first stone for the construction of the railway bridge, and later for the construction of the Volga hydroelectric power station. At the end of the twentieth century, development has stopped on the highest point of the mound was installed penitential cross. At fifteen cross it is customary to ask forgiveness for the destruction of historical landmarks for the desecration of an Orthodox Church and for the innocent victims of repression.
At the foot of Tsarev Kurgan is recreated the Nativity Church. About two mound springs installed chapel and baths.
