The Alcázar Photo: The Alcázar Palace

For six centuries, the Palace remained the residence of the Spanish kings. The upper floor of the Palace used by the Royal family to this day. The Palace was built by king Pedro I in the middle of the XIV century on the site of an Arab fortress and included many of its halls and buildings.

After Hunting through the courtyard, where the king's retinue before hunting, you get into the residential part of the Palace that has been preserved with the Arab times – Plaster patio and the Patio of the dolls. Here the Windows of the Royal bedroom. Girl's yard is famous for its elegant moldings created by the best masters of Granada. The dome of the Hall of ambassadors covered with gilded wood carvings with a complex pattern. Symmetrical triple horseshoe arches in the hall is richly decorated.

On the second floor is the Palace chapel of Charles V, tapestries and tiles of the XVI century. Behind the Palace are the gardens with terraces, fountains and pavilions.
