At the end of the 19th century the Roman Catholic community of the city made the decision to build the Church, permission she received in 1900, the Church of the Annunciation of the blessed virgin Mary was founded in 1901

A small structure made by Gothic and Romanesque churches churches-basilicas, it was built of red brick with a high gable roof. The solemn consecration took place on March 25, 1998 - in the Church feast day of the Annunciation of the blessed virgin Mary. Church consecrated Bishop of Zhytomyr Jan Purvinskaja.

In January 2013, in the city of Sumy in the courtyard of the Church was opened the exhibition of ice sculptures. For residents of the city of ice the exhibition has become one of the most popular winter vacation spots and probably it will be another beautiful city tradition.
