The first stone of the Cathedral of our lady Victorious was laid by the Grand master of the order of St. John, Jean Parisot de La Valette in honor of the victory of the knights of Malta the great siege of 1565. Under this stone then put a specially minted to commemorate this event, silver and bronze medals and a sheet of parchment with the text intended for the descendants, which was the date – March 8, 1566. In the XVIII century the Church was rebuilt in Baroque style, and in 1753 to her bell-tower.
