Church of the Epiphany in the village of Novy Nekouz Photo: Church of the Epiphany in the village of Novy Nekouz

In the South village of New Nekouz is Epiphany Church, Dating back to 1806. This temple is one of the few in the territory of the Nekouz district, which was never closed.

Once the Church belonged to the village Nikolo–Zamošša, which now became part of the district centre. Previously, there were two churches: winter, date built – 1873 year, and year, built in 1807. Both buildings were equipped with a bell.

The appearance of the Church is peculiar – a small winter Church, equipped with one head, adjacent to the tall, slender bell tower, consisting of three tiers. In the Church of the Epiphany has three altars: the first consecrated in honor of the assumption of the blessed virgin; the second, in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the last – in honor of St. Alexis, the Wonderworker, Metropolitan of Moscow.

There is evidence that up to 1932 at a distance of several dozen meters away was the summer Church, which by order of the authorities were dismantled being built for the needs of the district center New Nekouz.

The red brick bell tower of the Church is the hallmark of the village of New Nekouz. She greets all the guests at the entrance to the village by road Uglich – Nekouz.
