Mount Aneto is part of the mountain range of the Pyrenees and is located in the province of Huesca. Mountain peak Aneto height of 3,404 meters is the highest peak in the Pyrenees and the third highest mountain in all areas of Spain. The mountain is located in the northeast of Spain on the border with France. The peak, at the foot of which lies the picturesque valley of Benasque, is part of the mountain massif of maladeta nature reserve, belonging to the natural Park. The mountain consists of stony rocks are mainly Paleozoic and Mesozoic periods.

On the Northern slope of the mountain is home to Spain's largest glacier, the area of which currently stands at 79, 6 ha. unfortunately, due to global warming, the size of the glacier is gradually reduced. So, it is known that in the 19th century the area was more than 200 hectares, while by 1981 it had been reduced to 106, 7 ha.

Peak Aneto is very popular among climbers. Climb to the top is considered relatively uncomplicated, and the ascent takes about 12 hours. It is noteworthy that the first ascent of Aneto peak was made by a Russian officer Plato by chikhachyov in July 1842. In 1848 was made the first winter ascent of the mountain, which made Roger de Mont, B. Kuri, B. and V. paje. The path to the summit begins in "asylum of Recluse" and runs along the longest part of the glacier. The summit offers an unforgettable, striking contrast appearance: snowy peaks of the massif of maladeta nature reserve on the North side and the greenery of the valleys of Alto South.
