Kapowski the monastery is located to the East of Asenovgrad 8 km, near the village of Arapova. It was created in 1856 – first it was a monastic community, and three years later the community was transformed into the abode. This is the only monastery built in the period of the Turkish yoke. Since 1868 the school for the local poor.
A feature of the monastery is located in an open field, while all other monasteries in Bulgaria were held on the hills, in the mountains or foothills. Position Rapowskiego monastery due to located near a Holy spring (ASMO). Precisely because of this, the monastery has a specific feature in the external decoration – it is very reminiscent of a medieval fortress. However, it is worth noting that the buildings themselves did not pursue the purposes of fortification, they were quite traditional in the period of Bulgarian national Revival.
The monastery complex consists of several two - and three-story buildings (commercial and residential), a large cruciform Church.
Cathedral three-aisled Church with three apses was built in the style of cathedrals and Bachkovo Mining Vedenskogo monasteries. In 1859 the Church was consecrated in honor of Holy Week. Dedicatory inscription over the southern and Northern gates of the temple keep the names of donors whose funds the Church was built and decorated.
From the West, North and East of the Church was rounded U-shaped building, erected in the period from 1856 to 1859, but up to this day preserved Western private building. A little later the complex was added l-shaped wing, which was restored in 1935. In 1860 on the territory of the monastery's yard built three storey residential tower, with a height of 9 meters. The legends say that in this tower repeatedly found shelter angel Governor, Rhodope Gaiduk. In the 1870s the Northern gate, over ASMO – Holy spring – put a chapel, nave with apse, and with a massive arch in the shape of a cylinder. The chapel was painted in 1875. And in the 30-ies of XX century was built the bell tower.
In most churches Plovdiv district services were held in the Greek language, in Arapska the monastery served in the Bulgarian language. During the Russo-Turkish war, the monastery was burned. Restoration began after the country's liberation from the Turkish occupation.
The monastery complex is today a cultural monument of national level.
