Cyril chapel – Orthodox Church, which belongs to the ensemble of the Astrakhan Kremlin. Built the chapel of St. Cyril in the XVII century (in 1677), different architectural style of the "Russian Empire".

From the point of view of architecture is a small building without an altar, a cubic shape with a dome and four-point cross. At the entrance to the Church built carved portal, and attached to the West wall of the portico plate says that it housed the Governor of the Astrakhan background Mengden. In the temple was buried the founder and first Abbot in Astrakhan Orthodox monastery - the Abbot Cyril. More precisely, it is at the place of his burial was a wooden chapel built in honor of the completion of his miracle of salvation from the fire of Astrakhan. But by mid-century wooden chapel became dilapidated and in 1677 it was rebuilt in stone. In the early nineteenth century the chapel was restored, it was completed existing portico with columns that combined with a dome betrayed involvement in the architectural style of the "Russian Empire".

In Soviet times, the chapel have long been used for the needs of the Kremlin garrison and, of course, lost most of not only the paintings on the ceilings, and architectural integrity. After repair of the Kremlin in the 70-ies of the last century in the chapel gave a gift shop. Only in 1992 the chapel was handed over to the Church.

There is ongoing restoration work on the entire complex of the Astrakhan Kremlin, in the chapel of St. Cyril restored the exterior walls and the frescoes of the vault, weekly prayers before the relics of St. Cyril.
