The Church of St. Theodore icon of the Mother of God was opened in 1999 on the initiative of the Orthodox inhabitants of the neighborhood ACPP. In April of the same year held the first parish meeting, at which the faithful made a request to dedicate the newly-established Orthodox parish in honor of the Theodore icon of the Mother of God. In 1999, when the local administration was established the Fund for the erection of the temple.

Since 2005 thanks to the support of the city administration and mayor, S. A. Bozhenov began to be actively building work. In may 2007, his Eminence Jonah, Archbishop of Astrakhan and Enotaevsky when co-served by Cathedral clergy performed the ceremonial laying of the new temple. Mortgage capsule in the Foundation of the Church was laid by Bishop Jonah and the mayor of Astrakhan Sergei Bozhenov. After the ceremony ladika handed the mayor the order of St. Daniel of Moscow. In spring 2008, Metropolitan Jonah were consecrated bells, made in the city of Ust-Kamensk Uralsky (Sverdlovsk region), which were immediately installed on the bell tower. On the first Sabbath service in the temple, gathered more than 300 locals and visitors alike.

In fact the Church of the Feodorovskaya icon of the Mother of God has two floors. Baptismal Church is scheduled to open in the lower ground floor. Joy for believers was a visit to the newly built Church of the Holy icon of the Russian land - the prototype of the Feodorovskaya icon of the Mother of God brought from the city of Kostroma in October 2008.

To date, the construction of the Church completed. For four years, was fully constructed building of the temple, the dome and the bell. Now, the work on the walls, the installation of the iconostasis and the fence around the Church.
