The former Kursaal building, which today hosts the Congress centre and casino stands on the very spot, where the leaves on the surface of the first thermal baths of Baden, the Source became known even to the ancient Romans and received therefore the name "Remarquable" Roman spring.

Empress Maria Theresa ordered here to break the first Baden Park, which was later enlarged and named the Spa Park. Today this Park is considered one of the most beautiful ancient parks of Austria.
