Despite the fact that the New and Old Bar are inextricably linked, they are from each other a few kilometers. The old Bar is an ancient fortress on a high plateau, at a distance of 4 kilometers from the coastline. Just Old Bar was built 240 different buildings.

Clock tower in Old Bar was built in 1753. Clock is placed on all four sides of the tower. The Creator of the tower called Yahya Ibrahim Osman Agha, a resident of the upper part of the city in which they lived only a rich and respectable people.

From the height of the clock tower you can see not only the New Bar, but part of the coast.

It is known that Bar, since 1507, was under the yoke of the Ottoman Empire, that is, more than three hundred years. The Turks not only established his dictatorship on the Montenegrin land, but tried to persuade the people to change their religious views. This mosque was built.

The structure was repeatedly exposed to the destructive action on the part of the people, and the natural elements. Maximum damage was caused during the release of the Bar from the Turks in 1877. In addition, an old Turkish building suffered three major earthquakes: 1905, 1968 and 1979.

The tower underwent a complete renovation in 1984. Then repaired the clock tower, which today are illuminated in the dark.
